Erik Olovsson (Uppsala, b.1982) founded Studio EO in 2013. The studio is based in Stockholm and works within the fields of furniture, product, and graphic design. After graduating in 2012 from the Konstfacks MA in the Storytelling program, he originally studied Fine Art and Photography and then Graphic Design. He worked then as an art director at the creative collective ACNE for 3 years.

Studio EO can be recognized for its intuitive and experimental approach by encouraging mixed fields and techniques.

The project Indefinite Vases (2016), is an analysis of the solid and organic shapes, the transparency and the opaque. The indefinite melting material will interact with the geometric solid forms to deepen the relationship between space and object or better, between a fragile material and a solid one. The pieces are functional or decorative, they serve as sculptures or containers and the materials used are Portoro Marble, Amarillo Macael marble, Pink Onyx, Azul Bahia granite, Rosa Norvegia marble & hand blown glass.

“I am fascinated by the material’s weight, geological history, and permanence,”, says Olavsson. “Since glass is a new material for me to work with it gives an extra element of letting go of control that I like. At the time the glass is solidified in a specific form you’ve captured a moment of time.”

HATTERN, which is a combination of Happy+Pattern, is a South Korean design brand that focuses on color shades and a combination of materials. They like to define beauty as something useful, as it serves to take a person’s breath away, so to get him close to its emotional side.
HATTERN’s Art Director Jae Yang (know as UMZIKIM) is currently working between Seoul and Milan.
At the MILAN DESIGN WEEK, 2017 they launched their first collection project named MELLOW, featured at the premier gallery of Rossana Orlandi.

MELLOW Collection is made of objects and everyday objects with the peculiarity of stimulating the sense of optic which directly responds to light. It gets great inspiration from the Art Print Impressionism movement of the late 19th century. This is visible in the Color Split method, also renowned as opposite colors. The collection comes in two versions, one transparent and another blurred one, to give two different feelings, as colors expressed and reflected through different materials give totally diverse tones and shades. The pieces main attraction lies indeed in the unique reflections effects.
